AboutKeyhole Surgery

Sometimes a small operation called a laparoscopy, or keyhole surgery, will be performed in order to diagnose gynaecological problems.

Laparoscopic surgery can be used to diagnose most of the problems outlined on this website, as well as endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease and ectopic pregnancies.

If uterine problems are suspected, a hysteroscopy may be necessary. Similar to a laparoscopy, this involves inserting a small viewing tube to examine the uterus.

Ovarian cysts, adhesions, firbroids or polyps can be removed by this type of endscopic surgery.

Please Contact Mr Mahfouz if you would like to learn more about laparascopic surgery or a hysteroscopy.
