Menopausal Symptoms
The menopause, known ominously as 'the change', simply involves the end of egg production by the ovaries. This usually occurs at the age of 50 or so. There are a number of possible physical effects of the menopause, which Mr Mahfouz is experienced in treating. Tests for these effects may include:
- Hormone blood tests
- Profile for kidney, liver, thyroid test and lipid profile for cholesterol
- Gynaecological ultrasound scan
- Breast X-ray (Mammography)
- Bone densitometry
